Makhana

Makhana, or fox nuts, are harvested from the ponds of Bihar and have been a fasting and snacking staple in Indian homes for centuries.

Ours are hand-picked for size and crispness. Dry-roast them in a little ghee for four to five minutes, then toss with salt, pepper or our chaat masala for a light snack, or simmer them into a makhana kheer.
